We have a fantastic opportunity to join our busy team. This role is a part time, term time position. Working mainly within the hours 9am-3pm which allows a good work/home life balance. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to provide administration support for the service

The School Crossing Patrol Service aims is to ensure that children and adults can travel safely and easily whilst on their journeys to and from school. Staffordshire County Council has managed the School Crossing Patrol (SCP) Service since 1993 following its transfer from Staffordshire Police. The service operates at 250 sites across Staffordshire, therefore this is a busy role!

Main Responsibility

You’ll be required to:

  • provide administrative support to the School Crossing Patrols Service Manager and the team whilst being a first point of contact for enquiries.
  • use departmental databases and systems and the full range of Microsoft packages as part of your varied daily work.
  • maintain and monitor ICT systems including the input and retrieval of data
  • design and development of information and promotional material for patrols and communities to promote road safety initiatives.
  • produce high level, accurate documents such as reports and collation of data.
  • minute taking at meetings.
  • assist with the delivery of training sessions (e.g., induction, on-site and safeguarding) for the patrols by organising and record keeping.

You'll be predominantly office based in Stafford, although there is some flexibility for remote working as and when business needs allow.

The Ideal Candidate

You'll have experience of providing administrative support and  be a team player, whilst being able to use your own initiative and have good organisational and ICT skills (Including MS office, teams, outlook)

You’ll also need:

  • Good communication skills – You will interact with many people across the organisation and externally through phone, in person and by email.
  • A flexible approach – Things can change at short notice so you’ll need to be able to prioritise work and sometimes change tasks quickly, often thinking on your feet.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision.
  • Be creative, with a good attention to detail.
  • A passion to always give the best service.
  • Happy to expand your knowledge and learning if the role requires.
