Job Introduction
We are looking for a Tree Strategy Manager to lead and coordinate our approach to tree management and safety. Working to a steering group of representatives from across the authority, you will be responsible for the implementation, reporting and review of the tree strategy, ensuring the safe and sustainable management of trees on council land.
Main Responsibility
You will be:
- leading and supporting delivery of programmes and projects to deliver the Tree Strategy
- monitoring and reporting on activity
- providing arboricultural advice and undertaking detailed inspections
- ensuring compliance with wider environmental legislation
- horizon scanning for threats and opportunities
- leading reviews of the strategy
The Ideal Candidate
You will be:
- be experienced arboricultural / tree professional,
- have a strong understanding of tree safety management and wider environmental policy.
- have excellent interpersonal skills to support collaborative working across the council and with key partners and stakeholders
- with the strategic ability and strong interpersonal skills to lead the Council's approach to tree management.
