Job Introduction
Staffordshire County Council arranges school transport for approximately 8000 pupils per day.
We are now seeking a new member of staff to join our team arranging transport to mainstream schools.

Main Responsibility
- Identifying and arranging the most suitable form of transport for mainstream school pupils including local bus services, rail travel, contracted transport, petrol allowances and refund of fares
- Assisting with the procurement of transport services including the preparation of tenders
- Overseeing the day-to-day operation of transport to mainstream schools
- Acting as first point of contact to Parents, Schools and Transport Providers
- Issuing and approval of Travel Passes
The Ideal Candidate
- Minimum 5 GCSE's (Grade 4/C or above) including English and Mathematics
- Good organisational skills to oversee the transport arrangements of up to 1500 pupils per day
- Excellent communication skills to interact with Parents, Schools, Transport Operators and Colleagues by telephone, teams and email
- A flexible approach to respond to transport delays and amendments at short notice, with an ability to prioritise work and change tasks quickly
