Our Highways Development Management team, led by two team leaders, handles around 3,000 planning applications annually. We provide a flexible work environment, allowing for a great work/life balance with options for office and home working.
Main Responsibility
As a Technician, you will:
- Provide detailed responses on planning applications.
- Be the main contact with the Local Planning Authority, ensuring positive relationships and comprehensive responses.
- Prepare and issue comments and recommendations on highway and transportation aspects of planning applications.
- Assist in auditing Transport Assessments and Travel Plans using GIS analysis and other planning software.
- Engage in pre-application discussions with developers to promote sustainable development.
- Help prepare evidence for appeals and court proceedings.
- Support the implementation of Development Plan Policies and the Local Transport Plan.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have:
- Experience with planning applications.
- Partnership experience with internal and external bodies.
- Knowledge of agreements for new street adoption and off-site improvement works.
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong time and budget management skills.
- A full driving licence.
