Job Introduction

This position sits within the Highways Asset Management team. Asset Management underpins all activities on the network ensuring whole life planning is considered at every stage of development. The team is responsible for designing, scheduling and supervising preventative and structural maintenance schemes, monitoring highway condition data and maintaining the Highways Base Specification.

Main Responsibility

You'll be working closely with the Asset Manager,  Senior and Project Engineers using your knowledge and skills to:

  • submit applications for road works, request permits, notices and records, liaise with third parties to co-ordinate works,
  • support Engineers with production of pre-construction information packs and communication plans
  • respond to public queries, update GIS mapping layers and provide general administrative support for the Asset Management Team.

The Ideal Candidate

You should possess excellent inter-personal and customer service skills, be a highly motivated, self-starter with a drive to succeed, demonstrating a positive ‘Can do’ attitude. You will be able to deal with a range of issues and conflicting demands whilst adhering to relevant legislation and delivering to tight deadlines and keeping calm under pressure.

What you’ll have:

  • Previous experience in co-ordination of multiple teams for maintenance activities
  • Experience of dealing with requests for information from members of the public
  • Experience of programming works and mapping data
  • Full UK driving licence
