Job Introduction
We are currently looking for an experienced, dynamic and highly motivated Fostering Team Manager who has clear Leadership and motivational qualities and can demonstrate a strong commitment and drive to achieve best outcomes within this field and has a highly developed specialist knowledge of Social Work Practice within the field of Fostering.
The Fostering North Supervision and Support Team, supports fostering families for the most vulnerable children in our care in the north of the county
Main Responsibility
You will have direct responsibility for leading and directing a team of Fostering Social Workers in the supervision and ongoing development and support of approved foster carers in the north of Staffordshire, Alongside providing high support and high challenge across the whole service you will be committed to supporting our foster carers; working closely with children’s social work teams and professionals to ensure that all our children feel safe and are well cared for and achieve their true potential.
The successful candidate will provide leadership, motivation and drive to the team and work alongside the Team Managers across the fostering service including the SGO and Family and Friends Team.
Applicants must have a social work qualification and experience of working with Foster Carers along with a sound understanding of the key legislation, policy and best practice guidance underpinning this area of work. You should also be able to demonstrate vision, with excellent leadership skills to ensure we continue to strive to offer the best services for the children in our care.
The Ideal Candidate
You will need :
- Direct experience in a management role within a fostering setting
- Qualified Social Worker
- Registered with Social Work England
- Hold an additional professional qualification in a related area or evidence which can demonstrate skills, knowledge, and ability e.g. Practice Educator
- Management qualification/equivalent
- Have a current UK driving licence and vehicle
But above all, you’ll bring the desire to work with children and families to ensure your team give them the right support, at the right time with the aim of keeping families together where it’s safe to do so.
