Team Manager - Adoption

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

We're looking for an Adoption Team Manager working within Together4Children regional partnership.

This role is a hybrid role, working both remotely and from onsite locations as and when needed and to accommodate your own work life balance. The base location for this role will be either Stafford or Uttoxeter.

Together4Children is a partnership between Shropshire Council, Staffordshire County Council, Stoke-on-Trent City Council and Telford & Wrekin Council. We are the regional adoption agency for the four councils. We also provide other services and initiatives that support children’s permanency.

Our ambition is to ensure that children who come into local authority care and are not able to return to their parents, achieve permanence within loving families without unnecessary delay.

Main Responsibility

In this role you'll join our Assessment and Support Locality team, which is responsible for undertaking timely, evidence-based adoption assessments, the provision of high-quality training and support to prospective adopters, and family finding activities for prospective adopters and children.

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and support of adoption social workers and business support administrators, workload allocation, performance and auditing, the implementation of policies and procedures, and the recruitment, training and development of staff.

You would be joining an experienced staff team which values teamwork and positive communication skills. Restorative practice underpins the approach we take to ensure we can achieve best outcomes for our children and families.

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for a confident decision maker who can provide leadership, support and professional development within the team and to colleagues throughout Children’s services

You will need to be:

  • A qualified and experienced social worker
  • A sound understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and policy in respect of adoption, and children’s welfare and safeguarding
  • Comfortable in managing performance management data and budgets
