Staffordshire Safeguarding Children Board Business Administrator

Job Introduction

The Staffordshire Safeguarding Children Board (SSCB) is a vital statutory service, hosted by Staffordshire County Council. Its purpose is to facilitate cooperation among local organisations, ensuring the welfare of children and young people in Staffordshire.

The safeguarding partners:

  • promote child safety and wellbeing and together foster a culture of collaboration, integrity, and compassion.
  • develop safeguarding practices;
  • ensures effective arrangements for child protection;
  • learns from local and national incidents and in doing so strives for positive outcomes for children and families to keep them safe, promote their development, and protect them from harm.

Main Responsibility

You will:

  • provide administrative assistance and support to the Board including maintaining diaries, arranging meetings, making appointments and dealing with telephone enquiries.
  • organise conferences, events, seminars and exhibitions.
  • process day to day financial transactions within the office.
  • maintain IT based and manual records.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role working across a varied multi-agency landscape with responsibility for supporting relationships between the Board, partner agencies and other organisations within a complex and fast paced multi-agency environment.

The Ideal Candidate

You will:

  • have experience of office procedures, systems and equipment
  • have the ability to communicate effectively in order to convey information clearly.
  • have ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritising responsibilities and meet deadlines.
  • uphold ethical standards by treating confidential information with utmost respect, avoiding unauthorised access or disclosure.
  • ability to analyse problems, identify solutions and implement effective strategies are key to the role as are building positive relationships to maintain professional connections and collaborate across the partnership
