Staffordshire Jobs and Careers Support Officer

Are you looking for a new challenge? We are looking for an enthusiastic person to come and join our Staffordshire Jobs and Careers Brokerage team to support delivering an exciting new project.

Our Skills & Employability team aims to improve lives through learning and training, leading to employment and personal fulfilment, while supporting Staffordshire’s economy. We provide high-quality learning opportunities, targeted support to boost participation, and work-related advice to increase employability. Our job brokerage service helps residents find work and assists businesses in recruiting skilled employees, contributing to the local economy. 

This role is fixed term for 2 years.

Main Responsibility

You will:

  • Handle phone and email communications with partners, jobseekers, and colleagues to ensure enquiries are addressed promptly and efficiently.
  • Provide general administrative support and cover as required within the busy office environment, working as part of the Staffordshire Jobs and Careers team.
  • Monitor the return of information from delivery partners and jobseeker candidates to meet requirements, resulting in the production of accurate and complete records via our Client Relationship Management system.
  • Assist staff with decision-making and the future development of the service by accessing and presenting data as requested, such as formatted spreadsheets, tables, and graphs.
  • Contribute to raising the profile of the Service by maintaining the content of the external website for the Team, including updating the events calendar.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have:

  • Administrative experience working with internal teams and external organisations and partners.
  • High level of communication skills, able to efficiently communicate with job seekers, residents, and businesses.
  • Ability to ensure accuracy in all tasks and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Experience in managing multiple tasks and the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Experience using Microsoft packages such as Excel and Word

Interviews will take place 30th September 2024.
