Job Introduction
We are looking to appoint a full time (32.5 hours) Specialist Teacher to join the Autism Inclusion Central Team on 8 April 2024, earlier if possible. Experience of working with Autistic young people in an education setting is essential; and experience of advisory work or training in Autism and/or Special Needs is desirable.
Current team business need means that this position will initially be based in Stone and surrounding areas and will include working in a variety of settings across the whole age range from Nursery through to FE Colleges. A willingness to travel across the LA in order to meet business need is also required.

Main Responsibility
As a Specialist Teacher you will:
- Have day to day responsibility for designated Autistic children / young people within a variety of settings, Nursery through to College, which may include high school resource bases.
- Co-ordinate, plan, advise, deliver and review a range of Autism specific interventions.
- Work closely with education staff in an advisory role to support inclusion within the classroom/setting.
- Deliver Autism specific training to a range of settings.
- Contribute to multi-agency working for the young people you are supporting.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and committed teacher, who will work within education settings to support a high quality, inclusive educational experience for Autistic children/young people.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced teacher, with QTS, who has extensive experience of working with Autistic children/young people in education settings and a passion for inclusion, enabling all children to flourish and grow.
A post graduate qualification in Autism and/or SEND is desirable, but not essential. SEN allowance is available depending on experience and qualifications.
Due to the peripatetic nature of the role, this post is designated as an essential car user. Applicants must be able to drive, have a driving licence and have daily access to a car. However, for disabled applicants, reasonable adjustments will be made where required.
