Senior Debt Recovery Officer (Cash Receipting)

Job Introduction

An opportunity has arisen to join our Accounts Receivable team, helping Staffordshire to face the issues currently challenging local government.

Our Accounts Receivable team provides a range of services with the aim of achieving the efficient and effective collection of income and the enablement of good financial management.

 

Main Responsibility

Main Responsibilities

You will play a key role in the Cash Receipting Team, whose role centres around the timely receipting of cash from various payment methods and includes:

  • Providing specialist support and advice to directorate Debt Recovery Teams, SCC services and other bodies such as academies.
  • Management of SCC e-payments systems and collections, corporate collections via Direct Debits, management of bankruptcies and referred to drawer cheques.
  • Maintenance of reconciliations.
  • Maintenance of customer and transaction records.
  • Transmission of collection files.
  • Responding to all enquiries from internal and external customers relating to payments.

The Ideal Candidate

The Ideal Candidate

You'll be:

  • a team player able to effectively and efficiently process and reconcile large volumes of income to tight deadlines.
  • have good numeric and literacy skills and be effective in the use of Office 365 and in particular capable of retrieving and manipulating information for the production of reports.
  • Experience of producing financial reconciliations.
  • AAT part/fully qualified or have relevant financial experience.
