Are you an experienced SEND Manager?
We have an exciting opportunity to lead a new district assessment and review team to meet the challenge of an unprecedented demand for Education, Health, Care, Needs Assessments (EHCNA). You'll lead the team too ensure that children, young people, families and schools experience a high quality, timely and relational assessment experience.
This opportunity offers you a high degree of flexible working and some office based activity. You will have great support from the Central SEND team and colleagues across the 8 Staffordshire Districts. You will also have the invaluable support of a designated SEND Legal team and SEND Tribunals team.
This is 12 months fixed term post.
Main Responsibility
You will manage and lead a team of EHC Coordinators to deliver our statutory duties with EHCNA and review. Above all, you will:
- know the children and young people your team are responsible for and ensure that their assessment and review process is proactively managed.
- ensure that your team are well supported and working efficiently and effectively, placing the child at the centre of their work.
- need to be able to build strong and positive relationships with professionals across the SEND Area Partnership, mainstream and special schools.
- ensure that you and your team communicate effectively with all stakeholders, particularly our families.
The Ideal Candidate
An experienced SEND Team Manager who has successfully led a team to deliver high quality and timely EHCNA assessment and review of EHCPs.
You'll also:
- have an exceptional understanding of SEND law, SEND regulations and other relevant legislations.
- be child and family focussed in your work whilst always ensuring the Local Authority discharges its statutory duties.
