Residential Worker - Children's

Job Introduction

Brunswick Place is based in Stafford and is an edge of care service for young people between the ages of 11-17.

We are looking for staff who would like to work in a supportive environment where every day is different.  This can include attending meetings with other professionals, rock climbing, baking or meeting with family and friends.

This is an incredibly rewarding role that makes a real difference to young people and their families.

We have full time permanent contracts however we're happy to consider part time.

Main Responsibility

Within this role you'll be providing a safe, nurturing environment for children and young people who need overnight stays of up to 3 night per week.  Our aim is to engage all our young people in a variety of new activities and experiences, promote positive friendships and provide emotional support.

The Ideal Candidate

For this role you'll need:

  • A minimum of Level 3 Childcare Diploma or equivalent 
  • Full driving licence as this role involves transporting young people.

Please note: On occasion in residential care there is a need to only accept applicants from a particular protected characteristic.  As per the exceptions under the Equality Act 2010 there is an occupational requirement for this role to be fulfilled by someone aged 22 or over. The reason being that we are legally required to ensure that anyone appointed is at least 4 years older than our oldest young person.  Therefore, we will only be able to progress applications from candidates aged 22 years and over.  Details of the exception referred to can be found here Equality Act 2010 (legislation.gov.uk).
