About The Firs
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work in a brand-new Children’s Home provision in Stafford. The Firs is a small residential home which will provide medium to long term residential support for up to 3 young people aged 11 – 18 years old. It will be a family centred environment that supports, nurtures and cares for young people giving them opportunities to learn, progress and explore new activities and ventures.
We have a number of opportunities. Ideally, we would like candidates to work 30 hrs per week, however if you are looking for something different, please get in touch and we'd be happy to discuss with you.
Shifts are generally 22:00-08:00 however there is a need to be flexible.
Main Responsibility
This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team to deliver a high-quality service.
You’ll be committed and motivated to support our young people during the night. The role can be both challenging and rewarding and will require a high level of resilience. But ultimately, you'll be there to support and engage young people in new activities, supporting them with their needs all with a goal to enrich their lives and achieve positive outcomes for them.
The Ideal Candidate
To this role you'll bring:
- An NVQ/QCF level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People or equivalent experience working with children and young people
- A full driving licence
- And even better if you have experience working in a residential setting although this is not essential

Please note: on occasion in residential care there is a need to only accept applicants from a particular protected characteristic. As per the exceptions under the Equality Act 2010 there is an occupational requirement for this role to be fulfilled by someone aged 22 years or over. The reason being that we are legally required to ensure that anyone appointed is at least 4 years older than our oldest resident.
