Resettlement Practitioner

We are working in partnership with others to ensure that refugees arriving in Staffordshire can resettle in the community and live independently by providing the right help and support when this is needed.

You will be involved:

  • in providing support and assistance to refugees, currently primarily from Ukraine and Afghanistan
  • play a crucial role in helping individuals and families through our five foundations of integration: ESOL, Education & Training, Employment, Accommodation and Sustainability.

This is a full-time, permanent role, working flexibly, including remote working across Staffordshire.

Main Responsibility

You will be a key worker for families resettling in Staffordshire and will be:

  • Holding and managing a full caseload.
  • Working in partnership with and collaboration with other partners and stakeholders.
  • Completing accurate documentation, reports and records relating to work you do with resettled children and families, and adults.
  • Supporting resettled children and families, and adults to integrate into their new homes, community and life in Staffordshire.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have:

  • Fluency in Dari or Pashto would be beneficial
  • An outgoing, friendly personality who is able to communicate effectively with children and families, ability to build effective trusting relationships and relate positively to the people we support
  • Passionate about helping others.
  • An ability to build close networks with voluntary agencies.
  • An able to adapt and respond positively to change and prioritise tasks and work within time restraints.
  • An NVQ Level 3 related to working with children and families OR relevant experience working with children, families and/or vulnerable adults would be beneficial.
  • Have a current UK driving licence and vehicle.
  • Wants to make a difference
