Regional Agency Adoption Adviser

An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced and highly motivated children’s social work practitioner/manager to join our committed team at Together4Children. We are an innovative regional partnership providing the Regional Adoption Agency (RAA) for Shropshire Council, Staffordshire County Council, Stoke-on-Trent City Council, and Telford & Wrekin Council. We are recruiting additional Regional Adoption Agency Advisers to join our developing service.

Main Responsibility

You will also work with Local Authorities within the region to quality assure Child’s Permanence Reports and provide professional advice to Agency Decision Makers, where the Care Plan for a child is adoption.

If you are passionate about ensuring that children in care achieve permanency and you have 5-years post qualifying children’s social work experience (including significant direct experience of adoption practice), we would welcome your interest in this challenging and rewarding role.

Staffordshire County Council (on behalf of Together4Children) is offering this post on a permanent basis. The formal work bases for the posts are:

Post 1 - Staffordshire Place 1, Stafford, ST16 2DH.

Post 2 - Civic Centre, Glebe Street, Stoke-on-Trent, St14 1HH

Occasional travel will be required across the region. Together4Children operate an “Agile Working” approach to service delivery. We support blended working between home and office where this meets service needs and work together using Microsoft Teams and other shared IT applications to facilitate this.

The Ideal Candidate

Working with our Lead Agency Adviser, the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery, quality assurance and management of one of our Regional Adoption Panels. The job role will involve managing local resources to ensure the effective delivery of panel and agency advice functions within a locality; and working with the Lead Agency Adviser to provide an effective service across the wider region.
