A great opportunity for a temporary People Services Advice and Guidance Advisor has arisen within the People Operations Team in People Services. This role offers the opportunity to develop skills and provide advice, guide, challenge, and support to a range of managers and colleagues at all levels across our Household Waste Recycling Centres.
Based within an experienced and proactive team of Advisors you will develop effective relationships and use your employee relations skills to offer an excellent service.
You will be well organised with good interpersonal skills and the personal resilience to be able to deal with what can at times be a challenging but rewarding role. This post is for 37 hours per week worked flexibly with occasional support required out of normal office hours.
Main Responsibility
The role will involve:
- Being the first point of contact for all employees across Household Waste Recycling Centres, providing advice and guidance across the full range of People policies, procedures, systems, conditions of service, employment legislation and learning and development ensuring fair and consistent application
- Managing an absence caseload and building and maintaining effective working relationships with managers and colleagues
- Managing an informal caseload, supporting managers through coaching conversations regarding performance and conduct issues ensuring breaches in policy and processes are challenged
- Working as a team with the other Advisers delivering valuable advice and guidance ensuring continuity of delivery
- Liaising effectively with the People Operations Advisors on complex queries and casework that will need to take a formal approach ensuring progress and good quality service
The Ideal Candidate
- CPP qualified and / or working towards CIPD qualification
- Previous experience of providing HR or similar advice and guidance in a customer focused environment
- An understanding and experience gained within HR from your studies and/or work experience
- Knowledge of current employment legislation, case law and good HR practice
