The Pay & Reward Team plays an important role in achieving the outcomes of this strategy, so we are developing our Pay & Reward offer to attract and retain talented people.

As a Pay & Reward Assistant you will help us achieve the delivery of exciting new projects and improve our employee benefits offer.

You will assist with the implementation of Pay & Reward policies, processes, and system improvements. You will also assist with other pay related processes such as answering pay & reward related queries, undertaking pay benchmarking and assist with the Council’s job evaluation process.

You will be a highly valued member of a small, enthusiastic team who have high aspirations for developing the Pay & Reward offer at the Council.

Main Responsibility

You will require experience of working in a human resource, pay and reward or payroll environment and ideally, knowledge of local government. Further information about the key accountabilities for this role are detailed in the job description.

 

The Ideal Candidate

You will also need:

  • Educated to A level or equivalent qualification / experience
  • CPP qualified or willing to undertake
  • Knowledge of employment legislation and HR policies, procedure and initiatives
  • Experience of providing HR or pay and reward advice and guidance
  • Experience of undertaking research and supporting improvements and changes to processes
  • Confident in the use of Microsoft, Excel and employee data.
