The Reward Team plays an important role in achieving the outcomes of this strategy, so we are developing our Reward offer to attract and retain talented people.

Main Responsibility

What you’ll bring

You will:

  • have experience of working in a pay and reward environment and ideally, an understanding of local government.
  • play a critical role within the Reward Team to support the delivery of exciting new projects to improve our employee benefits offer.
  • take a key role in supporting the development and implementation of Pay & Reward policies, processes, and system improvements.
  • provide advice and guidance on Job Evaluation and ensure this service runs smoothly.
  • support other pay related processes such as implementing pay awards, analysing market pay data, providing pay related solutions and resolving complex pay queries.
  • be a highly valued member of a small, enthusiastic team who have high aspirations for developing the Reward offer at the Council. 

The Ideal Candidate

You will need:

  • CIPD qualified or equivalent experience
  • Detailed understanding of equal pay legislation, policy relating to pay and reward and wider employment law
  • In-depth experience of providing advice on pay related matters, identifying risks and providing solutions
  • Demonstrable experience of job evaluation methodology
  • Experience of undertaking research, identifying improvements, and implementing new or changed processes.
  • Experience of communicating and influencing with internal customers, presenting information in a variety of formats
  • Ability to effectively manage business as usual work and projects effectively within a busy environment

This job allows for hybrid working, your office base will be Stafford but you will have the flexibility to work from home.
