Job Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be at the heart of governance and decision-making in a large local authority organisation.

The post holder will work as part of the governance function supporting the co-ordination, planning, conduct and servicing, as appropriate, of committees, meetings, panels and working groups as directed, ensuring compliance with all relevant Standing Orders, procedures and policies as set out in the County Council’s Constitution.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with elected members, with a positive attitude and a passion for excellent service who is well organised, calm under pressure and able to work independently on their own initiative. Responsible for a busy and varied workload, you will need experience in managing meetings along with excellent communication, IT and team working skills.

Working as part of a small but talented and friendly team, you will also need the ability to work flexibly, adapt to changing priorities and meet tight deadlines with an attention to detail and innovative approach to service delivery. We are also looking for someone proactive who has a commitment to continuous improvement for themselves.

Candidates will be qualified to at least “A” level standard and have experience of working directly with local authority members, senior officers and partners. Experience of working with a Committee Management System e.g. Modern.gov would be preferable.
