Chasewater Country Park is looking for a proactive and hands-on Maintenance Officer to help keep the park and visitor centre running smoothly for thousands of visitors each year.
Main Responsibility
As our new Maintenance Officer, you’ll be essential to the day-to-day operations of the park and Visitor Centre. Your role will be varied and dynamic — no two days are the same!
Key responsibilities include:
- Visitor Centre Maintenance – Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, facilities related housekeeping, waste management and recycling services, as appropriate
- Conference & Event Setup – Get spaces ready for meetings, exhibitions, and community events.
- Premise management support - Proactively undertake and maintain appropriate records of scheduled compliance checks.
- Centre Support – Assist with reception cover, retail sales, and general customer service.
- Opening & Closing Duties – Help keep the site safe and secure for staff and visitors.
- Site Patrol & Maintenance – Supporting other onsite staff with litter picking, fly tipping response, planting area upkeep, and minor repairs.
- Community Engagement – Help deliver on-site events that make Chasewater a hub of activity and enjoyment.
The Ideal Candidate
What We’re Looking For:
- A practical, reliable team player who enjoys working indoors and outdoors.
- Comfortable with hands-on maintenance tasks and using basic tools.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Able to work flexibly, including weekends and some evenings.
- Experience in a similar environment or public-facing role is a bonus, but not essential.
