Infrastructure Officer - Network and Security

Job Introduction

This is a really exciting time to be joining the ICT team here at Staffordshire. Using state of the art network equipment we are about to embark on a redesign of the wider network with our partners.

As Infrastructure Officer Networks and Security, you will have the skills, knowledge and drive to help us manage our internal network and security infrastructure. The role will require an experience of network and communications technologies and an understanding of securing networks both on premise and in the cloud.

Main Responsibility

Administration and maintenance of core network security products including:

  • Checkpoint Firewalls
  • Web gateways
  • DNS services
  • Cisco network infrastructure including ACI and Catalyst
  • Security certificates and PKI infrastructure

The Ideal Candidate

You will have proven, significant experience of CISCO networking and a developed understanding of network security.

You will be a firewall administrator and have extensive practical experience. Knowledge of Checkpoint security systems would be advantageous.

Knowledge of administration of DNS systems (Internal and Public), email systems (including gateways) and web gateway (proxy) is desirable.

Any experience of connectivity to Azure via Express route, CISCO Datacentre knowledge including Nexus, ACI and APIC and UCS, Fabric interconnects and Hyperflex would also be beneficial.
