ICT Trainer

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

Do you hold a teaching qualification in adult education? Are you a team player with excellent organisational and communication skills? Do you love to explain complex systems to new users and help them achieve both their potential and the organisation’s goals? Are you calm under pressure, thriving in a rapidly changing environment?

The ICT Training team provides learning support to Staffordshire County Council and its partner organisation to assist their implementation of new and changing technologies. Alongside our standard portfolio, we are engaged in a number of key projects supporting the authority with its digital agenda and statutory obligations.

Main Responsibility

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, developing and delivering a range of learning options in a variety of formats including e-learning, interactive webinars, and face-to-face training. They will also be responsible for the application of learning technologies to transfer skills, including the use of content authoring, e‑assessment, and learning management systems. The standard working week will be Monday to Thursday as this is based on our customer demand (4 days, salary is pro rata).

The Ideal Candidate

Applicants should be an experienced IT Trainer, and preferably hold a teaching qualification. They should have a proven track record in the field of adult learning which encompasses the whole teaching and learning cycle. They should be able to work to a project brief, planning and delivering to agreed timescales. However, as ICT Training works in a rapidly changing environment, the successful candidate should also be able to adapt to the changing needs of the authority and its partners, and importantly have the ability to quickly learn new systems and applications themselves. Knowledge of M365 (including SharePoint) would be an advantage, and experience in using CareDirector is desirable.

They should possess excellent inter-personal skills, and be highly motivated, adaptable individuals. They should also be able to find creative solutions to emerging challenges while meeting tight deadlines.
