Family Group Conference Convener

Job Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time practitioner to join The Family Group Conference service which  is part of the Edge of Care Service within Futures Matters.   

The team believes in supporting families in making safe decisions and plans for their children within the context of a Family Group Conference. 

A key and proven way of strengthening family involvement and relational ways of working to achieve best outcomes for children when families are experiencing significant problems in their lives to achieve best outcomes for children when families are experiencing difficulties in their lives.

 

Main Responsibility


You will facilitate the Family Group Conference, bringing together children's support networks of family members and friends to find safe solutions including:

Acting as an independent and neutral facilitator of the Family Group Conference Process.

Responsibility for the preparation, planning, coordination, facilitation and review of the Family Group Conference that responds to the needs of the individual families from a diversity of backgrounds.

Promoting quality planning, decision making and practice for children and families.

 




The Ideal Candidate

You must have:

  • NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualification or evidence of being trained in the delivery of Family Group Conference by an accredited organisation.
  • Experience of delivering direct work with children, their families and carers in a statutory or voluntary agency which provides services to vulnerable children and their families
  • The ability to work within a complex system and find simple solutions and outcomes that deliver real change for our families, 
  • Passion and drive to support children to be safe and be able to remain within their family,
  • Excellent communication and IT skills,
  • The ability to work as a team and autonomously and be willing to travel to meet with family members.
  • Ability to work creatively, restoratively, so that you get the best out of children and their families through using relational and coaching techniques,

Access to a car at all times, an essential car user allowance is paid.

Please note, there may be the requirement for weekend or evening working
