An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Elective Home Education (EHE) Team for four new EHE Officers to work with students and their families in the Staffordshire Moorlands, Tamworth, South Staffordshire and Lichfield districts.
The roles are 12-month fixed term contracts.
Our EHE Team, specialises in working with parents who chose to home educate their children and provides the following services:
- Support to parents in providing suitable education for their children
- A statutory function of the local authority in identifying children without a suitable education
- Information, advice and guidance to other agencies on EHE
Main Responsibility
You will be working with families in either the Staffordshire Moorlands, Tamworth, South Staffordshire or Lichfield district.
As an EHE Officer you will hold responsibility for a number of children and will:
- ensure parents are providing a suitable education for their children
- offer support, information, advice and guidance to families and professionals
- complete home visits and review educational reports
- develop, facilitate and organise family and professionals’ meetings, events and groups to ensure home education is delivered in line with statutory services and is both efficient and effective
- ensure EHE students are safeguarded inline with current legislation and guidance
The Ideal Candidate
You will have:
- at least NVQ 3 or equivalent in respect of working with children and their families
- experience of enabling parents and children to take full advantage of the educational opportunities available
- experience of working with parents and children in an education setting
- knowledge and experience of child development
- knowledge and experience of child safeguarding processes and procedures
