Job Introduction
An opportunity has arisen to join the Elective Home Education (EHE) team on a fixed term contract until August 2024.
Main Responsibility
This position is for an individual with experience of the education system and knowledge of elective home education. The successful candidate will be appointed to the Elective Home Education Team, a team which specialises in working with parents who chose to electively home educate their children.
EHE Team provides the following services:
- Support to parents in providing suitable education for their children
- A statutory function of the local authority in identifying children without a suitable education
- Information, advice and guidance to other agencies on EHE
The Ideal Candidate
- We are seeking an individual who has NVQ 3 in respect of working with children and their families or equivalent.
- You will report to the EHE Lead and will hold responsibility for a number of children.
- You will be responsible for ensuring parents are providing a suitable education for their children, and offering support information, advice and guidance were appropriate.
- You will work with families in the Newcastle-under-Lyme and Staffordshire Moorlands districts.
- It is essential that you have experience of enabling parents and children to take full advantage of the educational opportunities available.
- Experience of working with parents and children in an education setting is also desirable in this role.
