Education Systems Data Assistant

Job Introduction

We have an great opportunity to join our Schools Data Team, working on data collection, reconciliation, systems maintenance, and development.

Our School’s Data Team are the key to supporting schools to enable them to complete the Department of Education school censes. The school census is a statutory return which takes place during the autumn, spring, and summer terms. The census collects information about individual pupils and about the schools themselves.

You will work closely with schools to ensure we have accurate and update information from them for other services to use the data. 
 

Main Responsibility

You will work closely as a team to:

  • Process school data and work closely with schools to ensure the data is accurate.
  • Collect weekly attendance for pupils attending Staffordshire Schools and our vulnerable populations.
  • Work with schools to collect and import school files.
  • Data Quality – run reports and update data.
  • Produce high quality processes notes and arrange meetings for projects.
  • Manage the School Census. Working with schools to ensure they have recorded the data correctly.
  • Collect assessment data from schools.

The Ideal Candidate

You’ll have:

  • the ability to communicate clearly, confidently and effectively with a range of people across the organisation and externally through phone, e-mail and in person.
  • Be able to develop effective working relationships and provide excellent customer service.
  • Good organisation skills and attention to detail, as you’ll be keeping data updated and you’ll be working to deadlines.
  • A flexible approach to work as sometimes things can change, and so you’ll need to be able to prioritise work and sometimes change tasks quickly.
  • An ability to work as part of a team but also using their own initiative.
  • A passion to always give the best service
  • a good working knowledge of MS Office

You will mainly be office based, although some home working is arranged on a rota basis dependant on the demands of the service.

Interviews will be held week commencing 6 January 2025.

The hours of work will be between 18 and 22 hours a week and “We’re happy to talk flexible working”
