Job Introduction
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Accounts Receivable team as Debt Recovery Officer and help Staffordshire County Council face the issues currently challenging local government. Our Accounts Receivable team provides a range of services with the aim of achieving efficient and effective collection of income and enabling good financial management. If you are experienced in working in an Accounts Receivable environment, then this is the role for you.
Main Responsibility
The post holder will work closely with the Accounts Receivable Team Leader and other Debt Recovery Officers in the team. You will be expected to provide a full debt recovery service including specialist support and advice to the council’s business units and schools.
The Ideal Candidate
Applicants should have relevant experience working in a financial function and have a sound knowledge of debt recovery processes and procedures.
Applicants must have good numeric and literacy skills, be effective in their use of spreadsheets and capable of retrieving and manipulating information to produce reports.
The role requires the ability to communicate effectively with customers and with colleagues across disciplines and to work flexibly and creatively to meet changing priorities.
