We own and manage a fantastic network of country parks, local sites and greenways. Providing space for nature, rich cultural heritage and great places for adventure and inspiration, they are an amazing asset to the county.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic countryside professional to become our new Country Parks Manager, bringing drive and ambition to take the service to the next level.
Main Responsibility
An experienced and strategic manager, you will lead the development of the sites to fulfil their potential, driving our new vision and delivering outcomes for our environment, communities and economy.
You'll also be involved in the:
- Strategic management and securing a sustainable future for the countryside estate (excluding Cannock Chase).
- Development and implementation of site/greenway management plans.
- Conservation and environmental management
- Allocation and deployment of staff, financial and other resources to deliver the priorities within the site management plans.
- Support the active involvement and engagement of the community in the running of the parks.
The Ideal Candidate
A confident leader, you will
- have proven expertise in countryside and environmental management, particularly of public access sites.
- bring new ideas and the skills to put them into practice to ensure the ongoing improvement of the service.
- have excellent interpersonal skills to ensure positive relationships with colleagues, volunteers, partners and stakeholders.
