Job Introduction
The Highways and Built County service sits within the Economy, Infrastructure and Skills directorate. It is a multi-disciplinary team whose purpose is to manage, maintain and sustainably improve Staffordshire’s Built Environment so that amongst other things it is safe, accessible, functions well, promotes inward investment and economic growth, and supports social cohesion and healthy lifestyle choices.
Main Responsibility
In this role, you will provide support to the Community Highway team by responding directly to standard highway enquiries and requests for service from a variety of sources - using a range of digital record management systems. It will also include arranging meetings, maintaining records, and collating often complex and conflicting information relating to highways
The Ideal Candidate
You will have:
- experience working as part of a team
- excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- an attention to detail
- have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- experience of working with a range of external stakeholders will be an advantage

Package Description
This post is fixed term until September 2023. Permanent opportunities may become available from April 2023 depending on the outcome of the current transformation of the highway service.
You will be based in a Highways Operational Depot based at Stone but will cover the Stafford Borough and East Staffordshire area.
