Commissioning Support Officer

Job Introduction

This is an exciting opportunity to join Staffordshire County Council’s Public Health and Prevention service, which is part of the Health and Care Directorate.

The Commissioning Support Officer will support the Public Health and Prevention service to plan, deliver and monitor the implementation of a range of commissioning activities, contributing to the delivery of better health outcomes for Staffordshire residents.

Working predominantly to the Healthy Behaviours Team, the post holder will have the opportunity to work across the wider Public Health Team to ensure that cross cutting issues are effectively supported as required.

The Healthy Behaviours Team’s work covers a broad range of areas, including; drugs and alcohol, sexual health, healthy lifestyles, diabetes prevention and mental wellbeing. They work with a variety of stakeholders to develop strategies and commission services/programmes that contribute to preventing and reducing poor health outcomes and promote healthy lifestyles.

 

Main Responsibility

In this role you will:

  • Provide support to a range of commissioning activities across the team
  • Work with and develop positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Create and manage data systems to record and monitor financial & procurement processes

 

The Ideal Candidate

You will:

  • Have experience working in a multi-agency environment  
  • Be enthusiastic, self motivated and enjoy a challenge
  • Be flexible and well organised
  • Be solutions focused and willing to bring new ideas to improve team performance
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication and administrative skills
  • Have up to date knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office and a range of IT packages
  • Have the ability to work well independently or as part of a small team
