Commissioning Officer

Job Introduction

Do you want to make a difference for children and families? We have a great opportunity for a Commissioning Officer to our team to commission and manage services for the placement service in areas that include fostering, residential and in supported accommodation.

Main Responsibility

You will be responsible to the Market Relationship Manager to manage short and long-term commissioning processes and delivery. You will be required to work with a wide variety of stakeholders and partners in supporting the children and families directorate to understand the needs of Staffordshire children and young people, translate those needs into definable outcomes and achieve best value. Work will require collecting, analysing and understanding data trends, to identify areas of improvement and implement them accordingly. You will ensure key commissioned services are being delivered in line with the agreed contractual arrangements.

You’ll need to have:

  • Have excellent knowledge and understanding of commissioning and has an awareness of meeting agreed outcomes.
  • Experience of managing contractual arrangements and experience of negotiating service delivery requirements.
  • The ability to analyse data and identify trends and areas that can be improved.

But above all else you’ll have a passion for your work knowing that you’re helping achieve positive outcomes for children and families across Staffordshire.
