Main Responsibility
You'll:
- Assess the needs of children and young people, identifying risk and deciding what support or protection is required
- Work closely with partners to share information and make safe shared decisions
- Use your professional curiosity, decision-making skills and understanding of thresholds to ensure children’s safety
- Manage your own caseload with the support of a Team Manager, developing increased autonomy as you progress
- Maintain high-quality, timely and accurate case records
- Contribute to service improvement by sharing best practice, ideas and learning
- Provide guidance to student social workers and apprentices.
The Ideal Candidate
You will need:
- A recognised social work qualification and Social Work England registration
- Experience of working in children’s social care
- Strong assessment, analytical and communication skills
- Confidence working with partner agencies in a multi-agency environment
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and strengths-based practice
- A passion for making a difference—right from the first conversation with a family
