Job Introduction

The Business and Enterprise team oversees a range of services along with other parts of the County Council’s Economy, Infrastructure and Skills Directorate. In this role you will work in the Funding, Business & Enterprise Team and will be responsible for providing support to the Programme and Funding Manager.
Main Responsibility
In this role, you'll
- provide support to the Programme & Funding Manager with all aspects of the day-to-day management, co-ordination and delivery associated with start-up and wider support activities
- develop and maintain electronic and paper-based record-keeping systems
- prepare relevant information including reports, charts & graphs
- participate in project management team / local partnership meetings and working groups associated with projects regarding the above.
- preparing relevant project publicity in line with start-up support including PR and media articles.
- provide advice and guidance to potential project applicants and clients regarding the start-up schemes & general business advice.
- Maintaining budgets & raising purchase orders, invoices etc
We have 2 posts available:
32 hours per week (permanent)
37 hours per week (fixed term until 31.3.2025)
The Ideal Candidate
You'll have experience/knowledge in:
- project development and working with multi-disciplinary teams
- established regeneration activities and appropriate sources of external funding
- monitoring budgets and audit procedures
- working with external bodies e.g. District Councils or Local Partnership Groups, Government Departments etc.
You’ll have:
- an appropriate degree or equivalent or other relevant experience
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- good ICT skills
- an attention to detail
- the ability to work under pressure and manage a variety of tasks
- a positive can-do attitude
You must have a full current driving licence and a willingness to be flexible and to travel within the area and occasionally other locations across the region.
