Business Support Officer

Job Introduction

The Governance Support Team offer Business Support to a range of Local Authority services providing a wide range of administration tasks which will allow the development of you're skills and knowledge. This role will be specifically assigned to the Corporate File Plan Project Team to support the current Project Support Officer. Full training in processes and systems will be provided.

This role will require flexible working Monday - Friday within Staffordshire Place 1 with the opportunity for home working dependent upon business needs. This role is fixed term until December 2025. 

Main Responsibility

Some of your responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide excellent customer service via e-mail and Microsoft Teams to a range of stakeholders including chasing outstanding enquiries
  • Be responsible for the maintenance of records in line with data security, retention and protection policies
  • Processing of information sheets provided by service areas to map future process timescales 
  • Maintaining and updating Microsoft Excel spreadsheets 
  • Minuting of project meetings 

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for you to have:

  • GCSE Grade 4 in English and Maths or equivalent qualification
  • Experience of using digital applications including Microsoft Office 365 (Sharepoint and Teams)
  • The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of customers
  • The ability to work as part of a team and independently, with some supervision
  • The ability to prioritise tasks effectively and be resilient under pressure
  • Be organised and methodical to manage deadlines within the project
