Business Support Officer

Job Introduction

Business & Executive Support Team have two exciting new roles available supporting the Health & Care Service area, specifically within the Adult Safeguarding Team. Both roles are permanent, one at 37 hours (full time) and a part-time role of 24 hours per week. Part-time hours to be set days with flexibility in line with business requirements.

Main Responsibility

Both roles require flexibility to support other areas within the wider Business and Executive Support Service, and Health & Care Team when required, to meet priority demands and will enable you to develop your skills and experience a variety of work opportunities across the service. Whilst these roles are office based there is flexibility for remote working based by local agreement and business needs.

  • Arrange and attend high level complex Adult Safeguarding meetings, coordinating the circulation of agendas and relevant papers, taking detailed notes, minutes and actions.
  • Liaising with external and internal service managers and stakeholders.
  • Research of client and referral data linked to investigations of alleged abuse and Adult Safeguarding performance reports.
  • Maintaining records and implementing related systems, including maintaining statistics, including computer-based and client information systems for input and retrieval of data, use of office e-mails and intranet/internet facilities.
  • Provide administrative support to Senior Officers and service colleagues within the team as directed.

The Ideal Candidate

What you’ll bring

The successful applicant will have: -

  • Administrative skills and experience to support the provision of a timely and high-quality Business Support service for Staffordshire County Council.
  • Ability and experience in taking accurate minutes for multi-agency complex meetings and experience is desirable
  • Sensitive and attentive listening skills 
  • Excellent communication skills to engage our customers and administration teams to share best practise using digital solutions where appropriate to improve processes.
  • An ability to work in a fast-paced, busy environment, and to manage changes at short notice.
  • Good IT skills with a knowledge of data & client-based systems, including  experience in data inputting/reporting and MS Office 365 applications.
  • Experience complying with relevant Information, Privacy and Data Security policies.
  • Ability to undertake a number of areas of work to ensure flexibility within the team, demonstrating the ability to respond positively to changes at short notice.
