Business Support Officer (PA to Social Worker)

Our Fostering Business Support team are key to the success of our Fostering Service because our Business Support teams are there, making sure things run smoothly, so that our frontline colleagues can deliver for children and families in the community. All that work in the background doesn’t just happen, it takes dedicated colleagues, taking pride in their work and seeing a purpose in the work they are doing.

We have an opportunity for a 22.5 hour Business Support Officer (PA to Social Worker).

This is a permanent position.

The hours of work are Monday- Wednesday 08:30 - 17:00.

You will be predominantly office based, although some home working is arranged on a rota basis dependant on the demands of the service.  

Main Responsibility

Tasks will include:

  • Supporting Social Workers as a first point of contact
  • In support of Social Workers statutory workload, convene and attend meetings, including statutory multi agency meetings, coordinating the circulation of agenda and papers and taking and distributing appropriate notes, minutes and actions.
  • Completing a range of admin tasks ensuring compliance with business processes and service level agreements
  • Accurately input and maintain information systems in support of Social Workers ensuring that records are up to date

You will make full use of the Department’s IT facilities including accurately maintaining, monitoring and analysing data.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have:

  • IT Qualification (ICDL Advanced (L3) or equivalent) 
  • NVQ Level 3  in Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • Good written and oral communication skills 
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office 365 and computer-based information systems in an office environment 
  • The ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
