Job Introduction
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Support Worker to a Social Worker, based at the Codsall Community Hub in our South Staffs District, WV8 1PX.
This role is ideal for someone with experience directly supporting children and families.

This is fixed term for 3 months with the intention of the role being continued on a rolling 3 monthly, long-term basis
The working pattern is 30 hours per week working Monday - Thursday. Flexible start and finish time are required (Early start from 9am but no later than 8pm finish).
Main Responsibility
You will directly support a Social Worker and:
- Accompany the Social Worker on home visits, school visits, meetings and community-based appointments, providing practical support and accurately recording key information.
- Accurately recording the views of children, young people, and families during visits
- Draft statutory documents such as Child and Family Assessments and safeguarding conference reports following social worker’s guidance.
- Type, organise and format meeting minutes, safety plans, action plans, and professional discussions.
- Prepare referrals and collate relevant information from internal systems, involving partner agencies, and historical case files to support decision‑making.
- Assist in gathering and organising evidence for assessments and safeguarding cases.
- Provide practical assistance where appropriate (e.g., helping complete forms, coordinating appointments, or supporting communication needs).
The Ideal Candidate
You'll have:
- Previous experience working directly with children and families in a support worker/practitioner role
- Teamwork, good organisational skills and a good level of competency using IT systems.
- Good communication skills because you’ll interact with lots of people across the organisation and externally through phone, in person and email
- Attention to detail, as you’ll be keeping data updated and you’ll be working to deadlines
- A flexible approach to work as sometimes things can change, and so you’ll need to be able to prioritise work and sometimes change tasks quickly
- A passion to always give the best service and a drive to build positive relationships
Please note: A current Driving License and access to your own vehicle is essential for this role.
