Business Support Officer (PA to SW)

Job Introduction

This part time Business Support Officer (PA to SW) position will provide Business Support to Social Work Practitioners across the Assessment & Staying Together, and Children in Care & Care Leavers Teams within the South Staffs Children & Families District office based in Codsall.

Preferred working days and hours;

Mondays 08:30am - 15:30pm (inc 30 min break)

Wednesdays 08:30am - 14:30pm

Fridays 10:30am - 16:30pm

Main Responsibility

Tasks will include:

  • Supporting Social Workers statutory workload by convening and attending meetings including statutory multi agency meetings, coordinating the circulation of agendas and papers, taking and distributing appropriate notes, minutes and actions.
  • Completing a range of admin tasks ensuring compliance with business processes and service level agreements
  • Accurately inputting and maintaining information systems in support of Social Workers ensuring that records are up to date
  • Data cleansing and auditing records to ensure accurate and complete records for performance management.
  • Processing day to day financial transactions within the office in accordance with financial regulations.

You will make full use of the Department’s ICT facilities including accurately maintaining, monitoring and analysing data.

The Ideal Candidate

You will need:

  • GCSE English and an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • An ability to undertake a number of areas of work
  • An ability to interpret, format and accurately present information,
  • Have excellent time management skills
  • Experience of working to deadlines
