Job Introduction
Staffordshire is an innovative, ambitious and sustainable county with a proud heritage and bright hopes for the future – well positioned at the heart of the thriving West Midlands to create jobs, growth and prosperity for local people.
Much has been achieved in recent years – a better quality of life for local people, major programmes delivered to secure future growth and jobs, and substantial changes to how we operate, ensuring we can continue to deliver what local people need at a cost we can afford.
As we prepare for the retirement of the current postholder, we are now looking to find our next Assistant Director Connectivity & Sustainability. With a wide and varied portfolio, this is a critical role involving the delivery of our infrastructure and sustainability ambitions, whilst also having a direct and powerful impact on the residents of Staffordshire on a daily basis.
We are seeking serving Assistant Directors from other local authorities or comparative organisations, or those looking to take their first step-up into a role at this level. With a specialism in one or more of the service areas contained within the remit of this role, we will be looking to identify credible and collaborative leaders, who can seamlessly transition from the operational to the strategic realm, all whilst empowering our workforce to deliver for our residents, businesses and visitors to the county.
