Job Introduction
We are excited to be offering two Apprentice software development opportunities. One role will be developing bespoke Web applications and the other will be focused on data warehousing and reports development.
Please can you specify in your application (ideally in the Supporting Information section) which of the two roles you would be interested in.
If you are keen to build a career in software development, this is an ideal opportunity to work with a team of 13 developers who are ready to share their extensive knowledge and experience with you.
We are heavily invested in YOUR future, providing all the training required, with our partner, as well as internal training and mentoring. You will work towards your Software Development Technician – Level 3 qualification. Successful completion of the Level 3 may provide the opportunity to progress to the Software Developer – Level 4 qualification.
Main Responsibility
As an apprentice programmer you will be hands-on designing, and building business applications.
A typical day may include:
- Attend daily development progress meetings, known as scrums
- Assist with the specification, design, development, testing and implementation of new digital applications
- Enhance existing applications
- Investigate and resolve software issues
- Work with colleagues and business stakeholders to build enterprise grade applications
The Ideal Candidate
We would like you to:
- Have achieved Grade C/4 in Maths and English
- Have the enthusiasm and appetite to learn
- Have a proven interest in the use of development tools and application development methods
- Be curious about how software/programs work
- Be excited to learn technologies
- Have some knowledge of .NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, but this would be beneficial and not essential.
- Be good at different methods of communication
