Apprentice Paralegal

Job Introduction

We are excited to offer two Paralegal apprenticeship opportunities to join our ever-growing Legal Services team.  One with our non-contentious team which may include commercial property, commercial contracts, highways and rights of way work and the other with our contentious team which may include childcare, adult social care, education, employment and litigation work.

This will be ideal if you are looking to kick-start your career in the legal world, have a strong interest in the public sector and want to develop your knowledge within an ambitious and empowering legal team.  We are a passionate and forward-thinking organisation where you will gain experience in complex legal matters that changes people’s lives and works to protect those most vulnerable in our community.  

You will work alongside our highly skilled Solicitors and Legal support staff who are ready to share their knowledge and experience with you whilst supporting you to complete your Level 3 Paralegal apprenticeship with CILEX.

Main Responsibility

  • Supporting senior legal colleagues at case-related meetings and other legal proceedings to gain hands-on experience
  • Assisting with case management and document preparation
  • Undertaking research on various aspects of law
  • Handling sensitive and confidential information in line with policy and statutory requirements

The Ideal Candidate

We would like you to:

  • have gained GCSE in Maths and English minimum grade C/4, GCSE/A level law preferred or equivalent
  • have a proven interest in law, and a real desire to learn and understand the work done by this public sector service
  • great team working skills
  • able to organise your own work effectively
  • be flexible in your approach to work as priorities can change quickly
  • have an understanding of client needs and expectations
