Job Introduction
Opportunities have arisen to join our Accounts Receivable team, helping Staffordshire to face the issues currently challenging local government.
Our Accounts Receivable team provides a range of services with the aim of achieving the efficient and effective collection of income and the enablement of good financial management.
These posts have arisen from a revision to the management structure of the service.
One of these posts will lead the Debt Recovery Team, the role of which centres around the timely and effective collection of accounts due. The other will lead our Cash Receipting Team, the post holder having responsibilities for the accurate, timely and efficient recording and allocation of income transactions and the administration and development of payment systems and processes.

Main Responsibility
- Manage a team of staff including co-ordination of work plans, monitoring performance and identifying appropriate development opportunities.
- Develop and co-ordinate provision of exchequer functions through a team
- Responsible for the efficient operation of the income system support arrangements.
- Provide overall assurances for front line support to users in the business
- Ensure the resolution of queries relating to the income system from all customers
- Offer advice and support to staff on the basic functions of the authority’s financial systems, to ensure efficiency of operational processes.
- Supporting the Income Manager and deputising for them in their absence.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidates will be a effective team leaders.
Applicants should have at least two years of experience working in a financial function and have a sound knowledge of debt recovery processes and procedures.
They must have good numeric and literacy skills, be effective in their use of spreadsheet and word-processing tools and capable of retrieving and manipulating information for the production of reports.
The role requires the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues across disciplines and to work flexibly and creatively to meet changing priorities.
